The Simple Things

On Saturday, we celebrated Tate's dedication. It was wonderful and meaningful and all around a fabulous day and experience. The following pictures are just a few snap shots of the day. When I can steal the pictures of the actual ceremony from my mom's camera, I will share them. (Mom, consider this your warning that I am going to steal photos from your camera).

The delicious Funfetti cake for Tate. Notice the smudge taken out above the 'W'... a sign that Tater was there.

Tate reading cards and opening presents. Card reading turned into a very exciting event.

Look what I got guys!!!

I had to post one for Uncle Charlie. :)

Sister, please respond to my text messages. Otherwise I will just post pictures here for you to take.

To be continued...

They Don't Need the Necklaces

We spent last Saturday celebrating our friend, Trevin's first birthday. Tate and Trevin are true blue friends; it is so fun to see them get excited when they see each other...when they are not stealing toys from each other, of course.

Tate, taking a toy break from all the other seven young ones at the party. Did you notice the teeth? Yes, he has eight, count 'em, eight teeth now.

Birthday boy Trevin, making sure his friend know the proper use of the toy.

Meeting of the mini-minds at the couch.

Like I said, true blue friends....working on their secret hand shake?

Like Father, Like Son

Two of the many ways Dave and Tate are the same, except they come in a big version and a little version.

Same reaction when watching the air show.

Same choices in lunch break activity.

Camping Adventures

So for Labor Day we went camping with some friends (read: six adults, three dogs, one baby). After last summer's "Man Trip" to Pictured Rocks, the boys wanted to share their experience with all of us. Tate proved he is a natural camper, even with me hovering and covering him constantly to keep him warm. (Too bad for him, this is a preview of what the rest of his life will be like...I am Mom, professional hoverer).

It was a loooong trip up so we stopped to enjoy some scenery. The sky was a-mazing.

It was windy during our hikes, but this boy was so very happy to be there. And he is cuuuute.

Pictorial evidence of my covering and defense against the cold and wind. He doesn't look too smothered yet, does he?

Checking out the waterfalls. Tate loves the sound of water and was totally captivated and took it all in.

Soooo in love with this boy.

Bru-Dog was in heaven. Crazy water and beach heaven.

This was in the "backyard" of our campsite and what we woke up to on Sunday.

The waves were crazy. Beautiful, but crazy.

He is sooo handsome and was so happy to be up there. I have no idea where our son gets his love of nature.

One of my favorite pictures of the weekend. Sunday morning, on our walk, before everyone else woke up. Just me, my boys, our puppy and nature.
