Nice Lil' Sunday with Mother Nature

After an absolutely wonderful day, filled with sunshine and warm weather, Mother Nature decided to roll up her sleeves and stir the pot a bit. Thanks Lady, for keeping us on our toes and providing ample opportunities to make sure our tornado sirens are working.

Just as I got to the park to play softball, they cancelled the games. Lucky for me, I had my camera.

It really isn't surprising that Tate enjoys watching a storm as much as Dave.

Strange how some things don't change.

Dave said that the hail was about the size of a quarter when it was falling. I got home a half hour it stopped hailing and there was still plenty of evidence.

Tate loves Trucks

Last week we heard about today's "Touch-a-Truck" event. It is where local law enforcements bring out their awesome and crazy crime fighting vehicles and kids are able to climb in, on and all over them. The whole time we were there, Tate pointed at each police car, search and rescue boat, and all the other vehicles with lights on them and said, "wee-ooo, wee-ooo, wee-ooo". Love that boy.

Getting fitted for a free helmet the police departments were providing. We were not sure if his ginormous head would fit...it's so full of brains.

Consulting at the Command Center. Oooh look, a light.

The biggest boat motor, ever.

On the search and rescue boat...strategizing.

"Beep. Beep."

Ending the experience with a cookie. Awesome.

Walk in the Reserve

This past weekend was not nice by any Spring standards, but let's face it, at least it wasn't snowing. To get out of the house and into the windy, yet sunny weather, we decided to walk through the nature reserve. We took bets on how long Tate would calmly remain in the Ergo...

Tate thought the fox said, "rawr".

I sure do love water. So peaceful.

Tate loved the water as well. He kept asking "again" when Dave poured the cold pond water into his hand.

Our muddy, squishy trail.

At this point I was super stoked that we decided to bring the Ergo and not the stroller.

Pretty schnazzy over the shoulder shot. The boys love each other.

"Where are you Daddy?"

At the point of our hike when we were walking directly into the sunlight, Tate felt it was appropriate I share my sunglasses.

I love tall grass. Maybe you remember.

At least we got way more than half way done before someone demanded to walk on his own.

What is more fun than walking through mud and picking up sticks? Pretty much nothing if you are a 1 1/2 year old.

The contrasts between the browns and the greens were gorgeous.

A well deserved rest.

And smooches for Daddy.
