Totally, Amazingly Great

Tate is great. Like totally-wanna-pop-his-head-off-and-eat-it, great. Except on the days when he is not. Like the days that he forgets all of his words and simply uses the noise that sounds like a broken horn stuck on the highest volume level. But I digress...Tate is totally, amazingly great. He has been so much fun this summer. He is able to communicate so well and he is so sure of what he wants to do ("oh yea") and what he doesn't want to ("no!" insert scowl face). Last summer we bought a Burly bike trailer and only used it once due to the small nature of our child. This summer we brought it out for a hefty 17 mile family bike ride. Needless to say, we heard our fair share of the loud, broken horn.

Love that he wanted to wear his helmet and buckle his clasps all on his own.

One of his favorite activities. He always asks for a "pacha!" Translation: spatula

We bought a Step 2 Big Climber for Tate. He was very active in the assembling process...

He even takes time out of playing to keep his eye on Daddy.

Saturday Morning Stroll

This weekend was the second weekend that our farmer's market was open and since last week it was yucky and rainy, we decided to wait. Dave was gone this weekend so it was Tate the great and myself walking down to the market to get some homegrown fruit. Of course, Tate was supa cool in his shades...

"it's how I roll..."

keeping his eyes out for any available ladies.

We did well at the market, scoring some strawberries, blueberries and peaches. About two hours after we were home, the blueberries were gone. The whole quart of them...nice.

Buried Treasure

Last weekend it was hot, and I mean HOT. So we took Tate to the beach. He was a bit tentative with the water, but of course was all over the slides. Tate also sat captivated for a good 15 minutes watching all the boys (Daddy included) going off the diving board.

It was a team effort in burying the baby.

He was more happy being buried than I have seen him in other activities.

Non-campfire, Zero Bear Spotting Weekend

This Memorial Day was a busy day filled with driving, ping pong, lacrosse and cookouts (yes, plural). Thankfully the weekend was a bit more chill as we were able to spend time up at Rama and G-Pa's cottage.

Hitchin' a ride from G-Pa

Ladder Golf on the hill is like a rite of passage at the cottage...

Tate was pretty proud of himself in learning how to maneuver down the hill to the lake without falling and/or rolling, with his Bru-Dog

He's been here before. Twice.

I don't really know who is leading who here, but they sat on the dock together, watching the fish and soaking up the sun.

Dusk

Learning how to throw skip stones...

High fives

Bru was water logged all weekend. She can't say no to the call of the lake.

Family canoe time. It lasted about 6 minutes and we had to bring Tate back in. Then about 11 minutes later we came back for fear of being eaten by the flies.
